Shareen is the Executive Director of the Center for Restorative Youth Justice (CRYJ). CRYJ’s programs work one-on-one with youth and victims of juvenile crime to ‘reweave the fabric’ of relationships (community, family, peers) that are broken or strained when crimes are committed – promoting true accountability, inspiring greater human connection, and increasing community safety.
CRYJ’s innovative programs create meaningful alternative accountability options for juvenile offenders that focus on providing a ‘human response to crime’ that strives to meet the needs of those that were harmed while creating opportunities for important reflection, mentoring, and community connection. Through this, CRYJ’s programs effectively reduce juvenile delinquency and help youth to discover and develop important strengths and communication skills. www.restorativeyouthjustice.org Shareen has worked with nonprofits and agencies across the globe to create meaningful opportunities for community engagement and social justice and brings a strong passion and commitment to working with youth.
