Matt Springer is the first full-time grant writer at Flathead Valley Community College. In the last three years, grants have helped triple FVCC’s nursing program and launch a new approach to manufacturing education. Grants have also helped the college initiate a biotechnology program, refurbish FVCC’s engineering and physics programs, initiate an agriculture program and on- site farm and construct the new Rebecca Cheney Broussard Center. In total, FVCC has secured over $11 million dollars in funding over the last three years.
Prior to his work at FVCC, Matt worked in regional government in Portland and with multiple social service agencies serving at-risk youth and families in Oregon, Hawaii and California. Matt serves on the board of Ravenwood Outdoor Learning Center, the Executive Committee of Leadership Flathead, is involved with Tamarack Grief Resource Center and is participating in Leadership Montana’s Class of 2013. Matt has an incredible wife, a curmudgeonly 15- year-old dog and twins on the way.
